Sing with Us this Season!

OPEN REHEARSALS. Join Chiaroscuro, an adult men’s community chorus based in Adrian, Michigan. During our performance season (September through May) we open our regular Tuesday rehearsals to potential new members all through the months of September and again in January from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm in the church sanctuary at Adrian First United Methodist Church, 1245 W. Maple Avenue, Adrian, Michigan. During the summer (June through August), we suspend Tuesday rehearsals, holding optional member workshops on Mondays. Interested new summer season members attend rehearsal and audition on Mondays during the month of June.

THE AUDITION. After rehearsal, stay to sing America (My Country ‘tis of Thee), Amazing Grace or another well-known song with piano accompaniment to demonstrate your ability to sing accurately the melody and the rhythm. Music for America or Amazing Grace will be provided. Our members are expected to learn their music outside of rehearsals. The ability to read music is desirable but not required. We provide digital rehearsal recordings to assist singers to learn the music.

We are always welcoming male tenors, baritones and basses to our chorus. We sing a wide variety of meaningful music, develop life-long friendships and give inspiring performances, usually to standing ovation audiences! Our all-male voice chorus represents all backgrounds and ages, seeks to create one glorious unified sound as we touch the hearts and minds of our listeners, and provides a place to belong for our members.
